Floatation therapy is an “effective, noninvasive method for treating stress-related pain,” including extensive stress, burnout depression, and pain related to muscle tension. This study found that floatation therapy is more effective than a placebo. Participants also decreased their level of alcohol intake during the study, suggesting further benefits from floating.
